The Statue

Here is a statue on the face of an old building. It has just been sand blasted to look like new. Today, we don't have time to do such decoration on the constructions.

Travelling in Time

There are magic places here. It seems they haven't changed over the centuries. Plants invade the garden . I try to imagine the lives of the first people who lived here. Its like travelling in time.

The Ponies

The botanical garden is a magical place for children. There are rounabouts and swings. I think the favorite for the children are the ponies. They are filled with wonder to climb onto the ponies back. Their parents eyes are filled with pleasure as they watch.

Scallops

The "Hotel Dieu" is on the route for the pilgrims who stopped here for rest and refreshment. The pilgrims follow the path of Saint Jacques de Compostel. The symbol of Saint Jacques de Compostel is a scallop and the pilgrims still carry one.

"Bistrot Le Filochard"

A really popular bar such as we do not often find. Everyone knows each other or makes contact. There is conviviality rarely equalled. The bonus is good music. During the week is best. At weekend its difficult to find a way to the bar. It is an achievement.

The Parasols

Today is hot. People are out in the fresh air. The terraces of the bars are covered by many parasols. It is pleasant to take a drink in the shade and discuss many things. People of Toulouse like to talk about the last match of their Rugby team, the Stade Toulousain.

The Lantern

We are in the porch of a "Hotel Particulier". This lantern is original and it is unusual to see such antiquity. It is the same age as the building. I would like the same one is my house but there is not enough room! ha! ha!

We aren't in the Amazonian forest! The botanical garden of Toulouse is a good place for a walk. There is no chance to cross a path of dangerous snake or another exotic reptile.
