Carmen
You can see this painting in the "Opéra du Capitole". It is huge. I advise you to take a look if you can. I think that the girl with the knife is Carmen...Carmen is a French opera by Georges Bizet. The story concerns the eponymous Carmen, a beautiful gypsy with a fiery temper. Not careful with her love, she is responsible for the downfall of many men.

Nice photo. I agree with Chris & Deb, the real people give a sense of the size. Ah yes, Carmen, she does look like a man eater in this dramatic painting.
