I know coffee shops are popular, but I don't think that I've seen queues forming before.
This Nespresso phenomena has really taken off. It's is like razors and razorblades...you have to buy their "refill" which keeps you coming back for more.

Nepresso sells very expensive (US$500) home coffee machines in NYC. They are only available at very hign end stores.
