Red bricks

Toulouse is the “pink city”. This predominant colour of the Toulouse landscape is the result of a practical solution. As Toulouse was located on a plain of clay, no stone was to be found in the surrounding soil. As a consequence the convenient pink-hued “Toulouse brick” was adopted for the construction of its buildings.
