Daurade
There is no doubt that Notre Dame de la Daurade was the first Christian building in Toulouse to be given over to th worship. "L'Eglise Dorée" (Deaurata) was named after the tiny glass flakes adorning its stucco walls. In the 6 th century, a manastery was added to the main building which underwent many alterations until the 19th century when the church finally acquired its present form and size.
